Riley Hughes is a postdoctoral research associate in Dr. Holscher’s lab. She completed her PhD in Nutritional Biology at the University of California Davis where her research focused on the effect of resistant starch on the gastrointestinal microbiome and metabolic health with an emphasis on individuals’ personalized responses to diet. Her current work in Dr. Holscher’s lab expands upon this previous research to investigate the interaction between diet, exercise, and the gastrointestinal microbiome and the effects of this interaction on human health.
